Who Should I Name as a Trustee?

A Trustee is someone you name to manage the trust upon your death.  You need to name a Trustee for a Living Trust, which is created during your life, and a Testamentary Trust, which is created at your death. The Trustee should be someone that you trust to manage assets, including real estate if you own property, and who you believe will make good decisions distributing money to your children.  The more you customize a Trust, the more you can direct the Trustee to distribute your assets in a particular way or under specific circumstances, but ultimately you want the person you designate to share your views about money and be responsible in their management of it.
